Coupon codes

Run a promotion without a spreadsheet of discounts.

Create a code like WINTER20, choose what it takes off and which offerings it covers, and share it. Clients type it in at checkout on your booking page, the price drops before they pay, and Booklink counts every use against the limits you set.

Coupon codes are included in Pro at R79 a month.

How coupon codes work

Percentage or rand amount

Take 20% off, or a fixed amount like R100 off. Cap a percentage coupon at a maximum discount per booking, and set a minimum spend if you only want it on bigger visits.

Your rules, per code

Apply it to every offering or only the ones you pick. Set a start and end date, a total number of uses, and how many times one client can use it. Decide whether it can stack with a service that is already on sale.

Appointments and classes

Codes work on one-on-one appointments, multi-service visits and group sessions. On a class booking for several spots the code is used once, and the discount follows the spots the client keeps.

At the desk too

Add a coupon when you or your team create a booking or add someone to a session in Booklink, so a walk-in or phone booking gets the same promotion as an online one.

Uses that add up

An unpaid booking that is cancelled or expires gives its use back. Each coupon shows its redemptions, and your daily, monthly and team member reports show what coupons took off.

On the paperwork

The coupon appears on the booking, in the client's confirmation email and, if you connect Rebill, as a line discount on the invoice. A rebook follow-up message can carry a code so it is already filled in when the client opens the link.

In one paragraph

Can Booklink take coupon codes on bookings?

Yes. Booklink Pro lets a business create coupon codes that take a percentage or a fixed rand amount off a booking. Each code can be limited to chosen offerings, a date range, a total number of uses and a number of uses per client, with an optional minimum spend, a cap on percentage discounts and a choice of whether it combines with a sale price. Clients enter the code at checkout on the booking page, and staff can apply it to bookings they create. Coupons work on one-on-one appointments, multi-service bookings and group sessions, but not on package purchases, bookings paid with package credits or program enrolments. Redemptions show on each coupon and in the daily, monthly and team member reports, and coupon discounts carry through to confirmation emails and Rebill invoices. Coupon codes are part of Booklink Pro at R79 a month.

Questions about coupon codes

Where do clients enter the code?

In the checkout step of your booking page. The coupon field only appears once you have at least one active coupon, so clients never see an empty box.

Can I limit a coupon to new clients or to one use each?

You can set how many times one client can use a code, for example once each. Booklink does not have a separate new-clients-only rule.

Do coupons work with session packages?

No. A coupon does not apply when a client buys a package, and a booking paid with package credits has nothing left to discount. Program enrolments do not take coupons either.

What happens to a coupon I delete?

It stops working on new bookings, but it stays readable with its redemptions, so past bookings and reports still make sense.

Is the discount taken off the deposit or the full price?

The coupon comes off the price of the booking. Your deposit stays the amount you set, but it is never more than the discounted price, so a client never pays more than the total they owe.
